![]() I didn't post that David because as the battery on load and the 2 12v settings on the power magic are 12.5 and 12V, 12.5V would be reached in minutes. What voltage have you found the battery to be with just the quiescent load in the morning before you start the car? Using the Battery Saver relay (interior lighting) circuit is a good idea and I initially connected mine to that circuit at the vanity mirrors on my first Kuga. Minimum cables. The BCM fuse box is so much hassle to me. I have permanent and switched power under the drivers dash from the rear fuse box, so easy. Geoff, can you connect direct to your BlackVue via WiFi on other than a smart phone, if you use a computer you have to use cloud or pull the card. Edit. Just checked my battery voltage and its 2 degrees outside. 11.7V with interior light on as I open the door. car has been stood for 36 hours. |
Yes, it's figure for under no load, but enlightening on how quickly you can take a starter battery into the zone where it's life will be shortened. Under load you'd expect the voltage to recover a bit, but for regular use when parked the accessory battery is a must.
It's so hard to get an unloaded voltage figure on the Kuga as they light up like a Xmas tree on unlock. You'd need to leave it with the bonnet open over night and then check.
I use the light timer for the front camera and have hooked into a ignition source for the rear camera. I'd like the rear to record for the extra 12 minutes- I might have to investigate the power wires around the rear boot light and add some more ferrite beads while I'm at it. ![Wink Wink]()
