Thanks tarmo120, info very much appreciated. I'd imagine it's something to do with the feedback to the smart charge unit.

So I got the Kuga back last night after work, 6th time it had been in and it was in for 18 calendar days this time. Presumably they wanted to check everything was perfect before handing it back given the letter it went in with said it was the last time it was being returned for repair...

There was too much traffic to give it a good drive so todays trip to work and back turned in to a bit of a test drive.

The issues I had before do seem better, and they have put a considerable amount of effort in to resolving the issues.

However... I now have 2 new problems!!!

It's sometimes difficult to engage first and second gear, it does go in eventually but takes a bit of effort. They have changed the gearbox oil and I've read the wrong grade or wrong amount can affect the syncro although not sure how likely this is. Could just be the linkage needing adjusting too or the clutch not completely disengaging, whatever it is it's not right and it wasn't difficult to engage the gears before.

Also under braking from speed (50+mph) the steering wheel is now shaking, not too violently but enough to be more than noticeable. It's not noticeable at lower speeds. Again it didn't do this before.

I'm thinking it's best parked on the drive until it can be returned as I'm not sure if the difficult gear changes are damaging the clutch/gearbox or if it's safe to drive with the brakes the way they are.

Quite frankly I'd had enough before this trip to the garage, and am mega ****** off now.

Was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but I think it's time to seek legal advice. :-(
