That's correct,mine are factory fit and front sensors are activated automatically along with rear sensors when reverse is selected but have to be switched on if driving straight into parking space. Otherwise they would go off all the time if you pulled up behind another car ie traffic queues etc, or someone passes the front of car in car park etc. They all switch off automatically at a set speed or can be switched off manually
