Hello,

Last night I got an error on my dash "Immobilizer malfunction service required" and my car did not want to start.

I was able to unlock the car, all the lights went on as usual - pressed the Power button but the engine did not start.

This is the first error or warning on my Kuga, besides the low fuel :). I was quite shocked and disappointed as this car is still new.

Luckily I was not far from home and went to fetch the spare key. The car started with the spare key without any issues.

This morning I then tried my original key and it worked again.

I called Ford and they told me I need to book my car in for check-up, but they fully booked for the next 6 days - so I need to wait.

Just for piece of mind, I dont want to drive the car if this is a serious issue.

Did anyone have this issue before? Is the Immobilizer a module in the car or is it built into the key? Maybe the battery of the key is low?
