Subject: Traffic Sign Recognition - GPS controlled or not?

The odd messages I was occasionally getting were puzzling me and the mis-recognition of lorry or trailer stickers seems a good explanation for the random 90 kmh or no overtaking warnings I get on either the M4 or M27. Clearly it is not every such badge that triggers this - just the odd one every now and then. It cannot be the whole story though. One of my more regular journeys takes me through a village with a picturesque (narrow and winding!) high street. At the same point every time I get a 10 mph warning. There is no sign that I can find - and I have looked - and to the best of my knowledge the limit through the whole village is and always has been 30 mph. I have no idea what is triggering this one.

Just remember that the message is a driving aid but does not remove your responsibility to recognise and drive to the actual signs displayed.
