There's a chap over at the Ford Escape forum that has a similar, if not the same set of drl's as yourself, when I asked how he wired his, this was the reply I got (ignore the bit about bumper removal).
Here's the direct link to the thread.
From reading various Russian, American and UK forum's fuse 39 seems relevant to the drl's, the way I was going to try to wire mine up was...
Red(+) to fuse 39 using a fuse tap.
Black (-) to a suitable ground within the engine compartment.
White control wire to the blue/brown wire mentioned in the above quoted post.
If anyone can think of a reason not to wire them up this way, then shout up.
I was going to have a go at the install tomorrow (27/12/13) but looking at the weather forecast, it looks like it's going to be a wash out, so maybe not lol.
Cheers

![]() They dim when the headlights are tuned on. Connect the Red cable to Battery positive (+), Black cable to a propper ground (-), Blue cable to fuse position #39 and White Cable to low beam (+) cable (blue/brown cable on headlamp connector). You have to PARTIALLY remove both front side plastic archs and both front wheel plastic splash shields, unclip front bumper sides to gain access to a screw that holds the headlamp, remove upper radiator plastic cover and fuse box cover. I had to cut the DRL's black plastic brackets using a motor-tool because they didn´t fit under the headlamp (hallogen bulb-type). I had to glue the DRL's to the headlamp (using a silicone heat gun). Be carefull when removing the black plastic covers under the headlamp to avoid breaking the plastic tabs, when removing the fuse box cover (the plastic hinge breaks so easily) and when removing the black plastic arches (they are fastened with screws and white plastic clips that are fragile). |
