Leaks I think are covered for the first year from new. Pathetic isn't it, if its a production fault, which it must be, as the vast majority of 2013 Kuga's don't have leaks (so far). There's usually a reason other than wear and tear.

Hello all

recently became an owner of a 2013 AWD Kuga Titanium X.  Was sat here thinking to myself, considering it's at the top of the range, my particular vehicle doesn't seem that well specced, especially when i compare it to my previous vehicle... Missing things that I would consider standard really, privacy glass on the back, front parking sensors (The ones I have i reckon are after-market there's a switch that doesn't look original - and they bleep for no reason grr), folding/heated mirrors, roof rails etc

Anyway, I have a couple of questions:

The service history book shows services:
28/3/13 ~ Pre delivery inspection @ 00009miles
13/2/14 ~ 11575
01/7/15 ~ 24263
and that's it...!  Is there any way to find out if it it's been dealer serviced since the last one in the service book?
According to the MOTs, it done 5758 miles in 2016 and just 409 miles in the last year - I'm wondering if it was because the mileage was so low the previous owner didn't bother.  I've just booked it in for a dealer major service to be safe.

Q2.  I have the moon roof and the opening sunroof.  Is it possible to have the roof rails retro fitted?  The car looks like it's missing something without them :-/

Q3.  Sat Nav.  Awful.  Is there anyway to boost the volume?  Not only does it sound like it comes out of separate speaker - and not a very good one at that, I can barely hear it!  Wondering if there's an update to the system?

Thanks in advance

LMP

Turn the volume knob up while the voice is speaking.  That should do it.

The service history is slightly dodgy. The intervals are 12,500 miles/12 months so it's second service was a bit late.

You're absolutely right about the roof rails, the Kuga does look so much better with them (and privacy glass) and from what I've read on here they're fairly easy to fit. There's a sticky thread with all info on the rails so you might get more info in that.

Even on the top of the range models you still have purchase the option packs to get the bits you mention. Privacy glass and roof rails were part of the appearance pack, front parking sensors and folding mirrors part of the convenience pack.

I'm not sure about the Titanium X, but certainly on the Titanium, rear sensors were not standard and they had to be added as extras. Ridiculous on a car of that size and price.

Are the chances of actually having a puncture worth the effort and expense?

On a risk rating it would be around 1 in 10,000 chance of having a puncture, you will still have the spare in the boot you will just have the inconvenience of having to empty the boot to reach it.
To me that is a worthwhile gamble.

Thanks for the info Filco, I am hoping it will settle down when there is a few thousand miles on the clock.

I'd very much agree with that, my 180 is just approaching the 'magic' 10k mark and even from purchase (at just over 7k), was noticeably quicker and smoother than my old 163 Mk1. That said, you'll probably notice it more in say 2nd or 3rd, although the power does help a bit with the notoriously short 1st.

You could try checking for logged fault codes (try using something like ForScan.) I imagine that's about all Ford would do if you take it in to them.

I had my Kizashi do the same thing only once- it's never done it again. I know in the USA they recalled them and did an update, IIRC the cause was some software related issue when the engine sensors just happened to all meet some specific values.

Timescale can be significantly shorter if a dealer already has a vehicle on order for stock.  It seems that the specification can be completely changed for a vehicle in a particular slot in the ordering process until a surprisingly short time before the commitment to build in the factory.  Without this, and it is just a matter of luck, there is a Ford internally quoted delivery time which any honest dealer should quote to the customer and you should get the same number of weeks quoted from all dealers.  The specification of the car appears to make little or no difference although the Vignale models might well be different.

Hi to all. As a new member joined today, and a proud new owner of a 2015 Ford Kuga Titanium MK 2, have bought and received from e bay a set of new chrome side step bars!. Although they look great the fitting kit doesn't appear to want to fit my Kuga. Despite many attempts the brackets do not appear to fit despite being told repeatedly by the suppliers that these are the correct fittings. Despite the company sending me fitting instructions and despite the brackets shown in the fitting instructions looking completely different to the ones supplied they are adamant that I have the correct ones!. Can anyone help!,

We have both the Nextbase 402G & 512G one on my new Kuga and the other to Mrs Bob's Ford Edge Sport (ST-Line) The Edge Sport has a rear camera with an option of a 160 deg front facing grille mounted camera which is standard on the Titanium, we test drove a Titanium Edge and can confirm this front camera provides absolutely stunning images of whats going on up front to the left and right amazing when blind spots are encountered. Sadly although a Ford 160 deg front facing griile mounted camera is available it's only if you have a Sony infotainment system which we have and despite this item being listed as available as an option Ford are unable to provide a part number or supply the camera kit at this time? http://www.ford.com/suvs-crossovers/edge/2017/gallery/
However I digress  I leave both Nextbase devices plugged in and when I read the instruction manual I discovered that the camera can be initiated by motion detection well as long as it is left powered on, now whether this function is useful or not is debatable, car was left on a second floor multi storey I drove straight into the space which on reflection was probably not a good idea when I returned to the car a trolley was left up against the side which left a little gift behind a visible dent just below filler, when I arrived home I discovered yes the motion detection sensor had triggered the device to record however when reviewed I got a wonderful view of second floor flats opposite where the vehicle was parked, useful advice may be to reverse into the space and it's not guaranteed but you may be able to capture on camera at least anyone moving from the side across the front of your vehicle. To be fair I have seen some really cheap devices out there but at least Nextbase in my one experience will respond swiftly to *any issues you have? (*Battery) One device is well over 12 months old now and the internal rechargeable lithium polymer battery probably needs replacing however it's always plugged in and so far I have not lost any device settings/data.
Both Nextbase devices seem really well made and aside from the internal re-chargeable?? batteries limited life span issue I am able to confirm the device has dropped off the greasy screen a few times now and my passenger can confirm when it dropped on her knee  . . . it's heavy well made robust and it hurts.

why not take a picture of those you got and place them together with picture in instructions, and if seller still says those match you should simply just cancel with ebay, they got some good secure way of handling such problems, and remember to share the picture through ebay as well.

maybe post that picture here too?
